The Gothfather

The Gothfather

Beginning a career in DJ'ing in 1996, The Gothfather started off as a Top 40/Hip-Hop DJ and in time progressed through almost all genres of music (Classic Rock, 80's, New Wave, Country, Techno, House, Rap, etc.). Finally in November of 1998, he was finally given a chance to play the music he loved most... Industrial! From there, he would soon spawn off a sub-culture in conservative-town USA with a flourishing community in tow. Not that people were not there, but now they are no longer afraid to hide, the Freaks do come out, on Wednesday Nights!

After being forced to leave from the original location of his underground night (During that time, Gargoyles), The Gothfather was asked to try his format of Industrial, Gothic and Underground music in a club where he had been previously employed. April 21st, 1999 was the first Wednesday night and is the birth of IGUN. Many years went by and the scene grew in the most unlikely of areas. The Gothfather received support from various patrons over the years and even the assistance of his good friend and co-worker DJ Darks Choir. Without the customers offering their assistance time and time again, IGUN would undoubtedly be a long distant memory.

Well, that is not the case and now after more than 8 years of progress and excitement IGUN is arguably the strongest and best Underground Night in the region. When The Gothfather was terminated from his job at IGUN's previous location (Uptown), he promptly made way down the street to the location where IGUN is currently calling home, Sky Bar! Being fired from the previous club was by far the best thing that could have happened for IGUN and The Gothfather. Now bringing in an average of 400+ people each Wednesday night, IGUN continues to be the leader and innovator of the Underground scene in NW Ohio and SE Michigan.

The Gothfather has also made his way across the country and has played in Las Vegas, NV. With appearances at Sanctuary (Krave Nightclub) and The Attik (Barcode Nightclub), he made a strong impression with his diverse music style and heavy format: Old-School Industrial mixed in with New Wave, EBM, Synth, Power Noize, and a touch of Goth every now and then. With tendencies to play more retro in his style, The Gothfather is always prepared to throw down new heavy True Industrial tracks and German influenced music now and then.
